McKern Steel is proud to announce its newest Foundation partners who have jumped on board to support its mission. Corporate social responsibility is increasingly becoming a crucial aspect of business operations and these partnerships promise to make a significant impact, not only in the world of steel and manufacturing but also in the local communities where they operate.
Among the new supporters are Furphy Galvanizing, IMPACT-A Fasteners and Construction Supplies Bendigo and Instant Steel Solutions, as well as our existing major partners BlueScope Steel Australia and J L King & Co.
The Fresh Fruit Fridays program was started by the McKern Foundation in 2015 and has grown so much that it currently delivers 850kg of fruit each week to 11,000 students at over 30 schools and kindergartens.
Together, these businesses are strengthening the Foundation’s commitment to giving back to the community and promoting a healthier lifestyle through the Fresh Fruit Friday program.

Furphy Galvanizing has been actively servicing vast regions of Victoria and NSW since 1984. Based in Shepparton, it is a division of J. Furphy & Sons which traces its origins back to 1864 and today operates 3 hot dip galvanizing businesses in addition to it’s stainless steel tank and vessel business.

Instant Steel is a dynamic international steel trading business privately owned and operated out of Melbourne, with offices in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and China along with having trading agents across the globe.
JL King & Co is a family owned Australian company committed to supplying fresh, locally sourced and high quality produce across Australia. Established in 1913, it has been operating out of the Central Victorian region ever since. LJ King & Co is our core partner in providing fresh fruit to the schools and we thank them for their support since the beginning.
