Michael McKern - Greater Bendigo Citizen of the Year

McKern Steel Managing Director Michael McKern was honoured to recently be voted the 2010 City of Greater Bendigo Citizen of the Year. 

The annual Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year Awards highlight the work of individuals who have achieved in areas such as community service/volunteering, charity/humanitarian, sport, arts and culture, regional development/business, environment, science and/or technology.

Michael received the award in recognition of his outstanding community, charitable and humanitarian service, his contribution to regional development and local business and his strong support of local sporting and social groups and events.

Bendigo Mayor Cr Rod Campbell said, "Michael is passionate, dedicated and committed to building up and contributing to his community.  He sets an inspiring example to others and has gained a fierce reputation for getting things done and we are very proud to call him 2010 Citizen of the Year."
